Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval is engaging in trash talk ahead of the AFC Championship Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
Mayor Pureval makes a bold statement, taking a dig at Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and suggested that Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is his father.
In a video, Pureval declared January 29th as “They Gotta Play Us Day” in Cincinnati, and took a dig at Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes.
Joe Burrow has a winning record (3-0) against Patrick Mahomes and is the only quarterback to defeat Mahomes in three consecutive meetings. Furthermore, no quarterback has yet to win four straight against Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, but Burrow has yet to lose a road playoff game and is currently on a 10-game winning streak dating back to Week 9 of the regular season. Some Bengals players are even calling the Chiefs’ home stadium, “Burrowhead Stadium,” instead of “Arrowhead Stadium” due to Burrow’s success against Kansas City.
Many Bengal’s players referred to the Chiefs’ stadium as “Burrowhead,” implying that Bengals QB Joe Burrow owns it, reminded viewers of the Bengals’ win in last year’s AFC Championship Game, and suggested that Mahomes has yet to beat Burrow and should take a paternity test to prove it.
The mayor went to Twitter to post the trash talk. SEE BELOW

In January 2022, the Cincinnati Bengals shocked the NFL by coming back from an 18-point deficit to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 in overtime, earning themselves a trip to the Super Bowl. Despite their valiant effort, the Bengals ultimately fell short in Super Bowl LVI, losing to the Los Angeles Rams 23-20. Nevertheless, quarterback Joe Burrow’s impressive performance during the playoffs solidified his status as a rising star in the league.
But, just when fans thought things would slow down, Burrow returned with even more determination and swagger, ready to lead his team to victory in the upcoming season. Dubbed “Joe Brrr 2: The Road to Burrowhead,” the Bengals are looking to make a comeback and take down their rivals once again.
However, if the Bengals do lose to Kansas City this Sunday, we now who the jinx is.
Joe is too cold 🥶 @JoeyB
