The NFL Board of Representatives created “Club Report Cards” to provide better information to free agents about their prospective clubs.
They sent questions to every player on the 2022 team rosters, asking for their opinions about their club’s facilities, personnel, coaches, and other work-related categories. The questionnaire received responses from 1,300 players, which were tallied and averaged to determine the rankings of clubs in each category.
Qualitative responses were also reviewed and evaluated to provide an overall rating reflecting player opinions. The Club Report Card includes an overview of the players’ responses and opinions about the club workplace and their commitment to workplace issues, and they’re pretty interesting.

Here are some interesting notes about the grades:
- The Buffalo Bills received very high grades, with an A+ in two categories and an A- in two others.
- The Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans received an F grade in at least one category each, with the Titans also receiving a C grade.
- The New England Patriots received a D grade in one category, which is relatively low compared to their overall success as a team.
- The Washington Commanders received four F grades, which is the highest number of failing grades for any team.
- The Los Angeles Chargers received an F grade in two categories and a D- in one other, indicating some areas of weakness in their organization.
- The Arizona Cardinals received an A- grade in one category, which is relatively high considering they received several failing grades in other categories.
- The New York Giants and New York Jets both received several B grades, indicating a relatively consistent performance across categories.
- The Cleveland Browns received an A grade in one category, but also received several relatively low grades.
As a union, the NFLPA prioritized enhancing the working conditions of our players, including their experiences at team facilities beyond the public eye. To achieve this, 1,300 of the players shared information about their current club, with the aim of assisting others in making informed career decisions and raising standards across the league. The objectives were to recognize exemplary clubs, pinpoint areas for improvement, and highlight best practices and standards.
