Los Angeles Angels’ pitcher Shohei Ohtani has triggered conversation among baseball enthusiasts due to his newly-released bobblehead doll. Fans have varied reactions towards the commemorative doll, with some expressing confusion and uncertainty about its resemblance to the Japanese baseball star, while others desire to add it to their collection. Some of the responses received were “I thought it was Mr. Senichi Hoshino” and “It doesn’t look like him but I want it.”
The bobblehead was distributed to the first 25,000 attendees of the Blue Jays’ game on April 8th, which was made to celebrate Ohtani’s personal record of 13 strikeouts during the Royals’ game last year on June 22nd. Many fans flocked to the Angels’ stadium and formed long lines to snag their own doll.
